Wezi is the Integrated Programmes Director at World Vision Zambia. Mr. Kaira leads a team consisting of Sponsorship, and grant management leaders. These manage a portfolio of Sponsorship, public, multilateral and bilateral government grants, as well as grants from foundations and individual donors. Mr Kaira is also responsible for leading highly specialized technical teams, which have been able to focus on the quality of impact for children through innovation and execution of World Vision Zambia’s Technical Programs. He has overseen the improved implementation of up to 95% of the Annual Business plan, and improved expenditure up to 95% of the annual budget for grants and sponsorship. Wezi oversees an annual average budget of $34, 000,000 annually.
Wezi has over 14 years of experience working with World Vision Zambia in managing Sponsorship, grants and technical teams. He previously worked as Grant Acquisition Director in the same office. Before that, he worked as Chief of Party for the Sustainability Through Economic strengthening, Prevention, and Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, youth and other vulnerable populations (STEPS OVC), a $90 million USAID funded project that was led by World Vision. He also worked as Regional Operations Manager responsible for supervising program managers in World Vision Zambia’s Area Development Programs. He was responsible for 14 programs across five provinces out of ten in Zambia.
Wezi Holds a Masters of Social Sciences in Development Studies from Helsinki University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Development Studies from the University of Zambia.
